Dato Seri Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar, KPDN Executive Secretary: "We Want to Maintain a Strong Collaborative Relationship with Atomy"

The Fair Trade Commission of Malaysia recently visited global direct selling company Atomy to benchmark Atomy's consumer-centered direct selling practices.

On July 30, Atomy announced that Malaysia's Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup, KPDN) and the Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) visited Atomy Park in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.

KPDN, responsible for domestic distribution, consumer protection, and fair trade, functions similarly to Korea's Fair Trade Commission, particularly overseeing the regulation of the direct selling industry. As part of their visit to benchmark Korea's distribution industry, they chose to visit Atomy.

Dato Seri Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar, KPDN Executive Secretary, who oversees the direct selling sector, visited Korea from July 28 to August 2 to directly observe the achievements of Korea's direct selling industry.



During their visit to Atomy Park, they held a two-hour discussion with Han-Gill Park, founder and chairman of Atomy. They were particularly interested in Atomy's growth and development as a global enterprise through its consumer-centered direct selling approach. The KPDN and DSAM delegation inquired about how Atomy ensures consumer satisfaction, the challenges it faces, and the strategies to overcome them.

Atomy explained that since its founding, the company has prioritized customer success as its core business objective, integrating a customer-centric approach into all aspects of its operations. They highlighted that the current challenge lies in improving the perception of network marketing, and they are committed to enhancing consumer-centered network marketing practices.

Chairman Han-Gill Park emphasized, "Direct selling is an essential industry. As artificial intelligence progresses, many jobs may disappear, but direct selling can be a business that substitutes those jobs."

Dato KPDN Executive Secretary expressed his gratitude, stating, "I have learned a lot from Chairman Park's passionate speech. We hope to continue maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with Atomy alongside the Malaysian government.
